A blockchain territory game where (initially) 320 land units across 20 districts can be owned, developed, traded and auctioned. Encouraging collaborations, and decision making to better not just your assets but also the assets of your neighbours. Powered by Community and powered by Mina Protocol, backed by zero-knowledge proofs for privacy and trust.
Luminaea is a 320-unit hex territory on Mina Protocol — the world's lightest blockchain. Players buy, develop and trade land units using $ARKIS, an in-game token built on Mina's custom token standard. Each territory is governed by a Minalien NFT minister with unique traits that affect the land. Tune your units weekly, build developments, win auctions, and rise to dominance across 20 districts — all verifiable on-chain with zero-knowledge proofs that protect player privacy.
Buy individual hex units, build income-generating developments, and earn weekly yields in $ARKIS and resource tokens.
Live on-chain auctions with escrow, direct sales with instant transfer, and peer offers — all fee-tracked to territory treasuries.
AI-driven world events, seasonal changes, population dynamics, and Nexus collaboration points — the world evolves without a central controller.
MINALIA is designed as a showcase for real-world zero-knowledge proof use cases. Each mechanic below demonstrates a concrete o1js primitive — visible to other developers as a reference implementation for privacy-preserving applications beyond gaming.
Players authenticate using their Mina wallet via Auro — no passwords, no email. Wallet signature verifies identity on every session.
In-game currency built on Mina's custom token standard. Fully on-chain, compatible with Auro wallet — used for all land transactions, builds and auctions (integration with Minalia not yet completed).
Minting 125 unique Minalien character NFTs (20 initial release) as minister tokens — each governs a territory and grants special game buffs. Built on MinaNFT standard.
MINALIA currently uses Supabase (PostgreSQL) as its backend — a pragmatic choice for rapid development. The long-term roadmap investigates migrating to a decentralised database layer, eliminating any single point of control over game data.
Alongside decentralised DB, game assets — NFT metadata, artwork, territory records — will be stored on IPFS (InterPlanetary File System), ensuring no single server controls access to player-owned content. Files stored on IPFS are content-addressed — meaning the data can never be silently altered or deleted, giving players genuine ownership of their assets in perpetuity.
Prove your wallet connected to Luminaea before a specific block height — without revealing when exactly. Earns the Pioneer badge, which is non-transferable and permanently attached to the wallet.
Prove a wallet holds ≥ X $ARKIS without revealing the exact balance. Used for bid eligibility thresholds, loan qualification, and territory access gates — keeping wealth private.
One human = one account. Using zkPassport or a Worldcoin-style nullifier, prove you are a unique person without revealing any personal data. Critical for fair play and preventing multi-wallet abuse.
Prove ownership of N units held for ≥ T days without revealing which specific units or the exact count. Unlocks governance voting weight, tax exemptions and VIP territory access.
Prove you've completed ≥ N trades at ≥ X ARKIS total volume without revealing counterparties, prices or timing. Builds a merchant reputation score that's verifiable but private.
Prove majority stake in a territory (≥ 9 of 16 units) without revealing exact ownership count or which units are held. Unlocks Minister-level governance and treasury control.
Prove a unit has had a Level 3+ building for ≥ 30 Luminaea days without exposing full build history. Awards prestige badges to long-term builders, rewarding patience over speculation.
Prove your duel score exceeded a tier threshold without revealing your input pattern. Enables league eligibility and reward tiers where your exact play stays private — only the verified outcome is public.
Prove you contributed to ≥ 2 Nexus building collaborations — where each collaborator proves their individual share privately, and a recursive proof aggregates contributions without any party revealing their exact input. This is a multi-party ZK construction: the most technically ambitious proof on this roadmap and a direct demonstration of o1js recursive proof composition.
The current game is a foundation. Luminaea is the first of 5 planned territories that launch sequentially — each new territory expanding the player base, unlocking new mechanics and deepening the economy. As territories open, so does the scope: alliances, cross-territory diplomacy, resource trading markets, minister elections, AI-driven world events, and player-governed treasuries. The full game is designed for several thousand players across all territories, with each layer of complexity unlocking only once the community has grown into it. Every decision matters not just for your own land, but for the living world around it.
As Mina's Web Node matures, MINALIA aims to embed it directly into the game client. Players who opt in would run a lightweight Mina node inside their browser while they play — contributing to network security and decentralisation without any additional setup. The game becomes not just a use case for Mina, but an active participant in keeping the network healthy. Playing Luminaea would mean helping secure the world's lightest blockchain at the same time.
